Who can think back and remember if there was ever a colour you associated a 911 with. Most of you are probably muttering R E D under your breath right now. Hot rod guys think re sale red, Japanese car fans think Renaissance Red, and pony car fans will usually talk about Ruby Red. If you’re on the up and up with our current line up of Porsche factory shades then you probably are familiar with of course, Carmine Red.
That’s the very colour that glimmers under the showroom lights on this 2019 911 C2 GTS is one that is both timeless and striking in the present day. A while back we posted a joke about the association with it being a midlife crisis, but you can put that stigma behind you easily at the cars top speed of 310 km/hr. A twin turbo 3.0 litre flat six churns the crank with roughly 450hp and 405 ft/lb of torque while the 7 speed PDK transmission will run that power to the rear wheels in 3.5 seconds when you make the run to 100 clicks.
The car is no slouch in the luxury department either, inside is oozing with gorgeous high-quality material that makes the cabin feel like your own luxury space ship, because you know….it goes warp speed. The steering wheel has been upgraded to the Sport Steering wheel with electric steering assist. The seats can be adjusted 18 ways as well as heated to keep you comfortable for everyday driving and the side bolsters have just enough girth to keep you situated for spirited driving. While the seats keep your body sitting pretty the infotainment will keep your mind at ease with a Bose sound system and Blutooth to stream your phone library hands free while you drive. All that power train and interior weighs the 911 C2 GTs in at roughly 3,200 pounds wich at some point you’ll need to slow down. Taking on the braking with ease is a set of 6 piston front brakes and 13 inch rotors with a 4 piston rear clamping onto a 12 inch rotor. The brakes are kept cool by integrated wind deflectors on the lower control arms so you can go a little further into the threshold should the need for harsh braking arise.
